What Store Traffic Data Reveals About Black Friday Shopping

Did you know that on Black Friday traffic peaks for most stores between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.? Well ThinkwithGoogle.com seems to think so according to their clever and detailed analysis of store foot traffic patterns from last year between the period November 1, 2014 - December 25, 2014.

Aside from the aforementioned conclusion of store traffic peak times, they also include comparative analysis of the biggest traffic days - Black Friday, Christmas Eve and the Last Saturday Before Christmas - per type of store (Electronics, Shopping Malls, Department/Cellphone/Dollar Stores and Superstores/Discount).

If you notice, electronics stores receive the most foot traffic on Black Friday than any other stores and that certainly makes the most sense to me, at the very least, but what about you? Are you surprised by any of their conclusions? Does it seem odd to see how much traffic Cellphone Stores receive on Black Friday or perhaps even more so that Dollar Stores basically have zero change in store traffic?
